The task group to establish the Viséan-Serpukhovian Boundary [which is also the base of the Upper Mississippian Series] was established in the fall of 2002 and is chaired by Barry Richards (Canada), who summarized the recent work of the group through October 31^st, 2012 in the Annual Report for 2012, volume 30 of the Newsletter on Carboniferous Stratigraphy, and on the following webpage.
